Site Posting Conventions
LIVE2PLAY / SoundProLive Site Posting Conventions:
Non-PR Items such as items generated in house or by our bloggers:
Titles: Need to be 30 Characters or less if at all possible.
Teaser: (the text that appears under the title)
—Think of this not as the first line of the story, but as a "pull quote" —something compelling to draw people into read the piece. When in doubt, just grab a line from the story that grabs your attention. Place the “break” under this in the story.
—The goal is no more than three and no less than two lines displaying under the title on the front page. This takes some trial and error, but the idea is to get the product name in the title (where applicable) so that searches will find it - If it’s a VIDEO REVIEW - that’s important but it needs to go in the teaser.
Here are some that look pretty good --
Fostex AR4i Interface for iPhone
VIDEO REVIEW: It seems like every musician and sound tech I know is packing an iPhone these days—and it has little to do with the phone part.
3RD Power Amps
VIDEO REVIEW: I have been a Marshall guy since... well, there is a picture on Facebook of me at age 17 with a JCM 800 1/2 stack in the background so... awhile.
Gator Wireless System Cases
In my years of being on the road as a Mobile DJ Entertainer, I have tried to find ways to keep my equipment safe and long lasting. I will admit,
-----------------
Featured Images - 650x250 - These will automatically be cropped and scaled to the 400 x 300 image box on the content page, so keep that in mind when posting features. This should typically be single images and high resolution. (Bloggers: Please do not post anything in features, we need to do that). If there’s no image appropriate for the feature area, then the story needs to stay unFeatured. The featured rotator represents the whole site and should look sharp and clean.
-----------------------------
Posting Body Copy: There two only rules:
1 - Obey all rules
2 - Please do not cut and paste formatted text (like a word doc) into the editor -
Formatted text needs to be unformatted via a text editor before posting. Word docs may be posted BUT ONLY when using the word doc posting box. Please ask. We can show you how to do this. Posting formatted text into the editor destroys the site layout.
Fonts, Styles and Spacing:
1 - Font Family is Ariel / 12 pt (#3) /
2 - Spacing - to get a single space between paragraphs, it is necessary to double space. This will look like too much space in the editor but should look fine on the page.
3 - Lastly _ LOOK AT THE PAGE WHEN IT’s DONE. If it doesn’t look right, go in a fix it, or let one of us know and we can fix it.
In text Images:
• Width needs to be - 220px, 300px or 410px (anything between 300 and 410 cause the text col to break weird)
• Vertical And Horizontal Space = 5
• Allignment - left
When posting press releases:
— Again - Please do not cut and paste into the editor
— Adhere to the title conventions above
— If the release is running unedited, then place the date line at the bottom of the post with a line such as “Source - XXXXX Corporate Press Release” - If we leave this at the top it shows up in the teaser as simply a place and date and makes no sense.
