Cancer Claims The Life of 7-Time Grammy Award Winning Audio Engineer/Producer Roger S. Nichols
Roger S. Nichols — seven-time Grammy Award-winning recording engineer and producer — died April 9 from pancreatic cancer. He was 66 years old.
Best known for his work with John Denver (won Grammy in 1997 as Producer "Best Children's Album" - John Denver "All Aboard!") and Steely Dan (won Grammys in 1977, 1978, 1981 and 2000 as "Best Engineer Non-Classical" for various Steely Dan projects), he had many other major music acts on his resumé including the Beach Boys, Stevie Wonder, Frank Zappa, Crosby Stills & Nash, Al Di Meola, Roy Orbison, Cass Elliot, Plácido Domingo, Gloria Estefan, Diana Ross, Bela Fleck & the Flecktones, Rickie Lee Jones, Kenny Loggins, Mark Knopfler, Eddie Murphy, Michael McDonald, James Taylor, and Toots Thielemans, among others.
